That’s a really beautiful box, well done!
It would have to be a piece, it was ridiculously expensive. I bought it directly from the sawyer in Australia
This is the piece I have. It’s incredibly dense material
It’s the tightest I’ve ever seen
Here’s a sample photo showing how tight the fiddleback is. That’s a toothpick for reference
Sounds good. Thank you
let’s do it. Would it be possible for you to anchor seal it?
How big do you need for samples? This is some very old timber, it’s beloved that the tree was 400+ years old. Sadly, it was quite pricey for me...
If the 12” is a full cookie, I’d be game., I want to to make one of these,,/9 I need the full natural edge.
Perhaps a chunk of hickory burl? I also have some ancient fiddleback Western Myall. The bands are about a mm apart
Is this Willow Acacia? Do by chance have any of this that would fit into a lgfr?
How much would it be for a 4” thick one!
How thick are the cookies?
I found a nice piece of lacy Beefwood, and maybe a piece of Amboyna burl
I’d like to try and work out a trade for these four piece. Let me poke around and see what I can find that might interest you
I’m wondering how much a lgfr box sized piece would be. Thank you!
You’re most welcome. And thank you again too
Noted. That said, I’ve examined it closely and it seems to be quite sound. A spoon of this nature would be pretty much decorative/sculptural...
How much would one that size be? Assuming you have enough? Thanks
