I will be doing a hand plane restoration class in the near future.
Here’s one I did to get an idea of how long it takes, and figure that into the class

File, sand and scrape away all rust and crud.
Also a good scrubbing,with Simple Green and scotchbrite pads

I have a few that I use for decoration around the house. Therefore I leave all the patina on them. If I ever figure out how to actually use one I may want to restore one. Although I did get one from someone on this site years ago that is restored and it’s gorgeous. I still just like the way they look versus their function. LOL
