    Hey all,
Hopefully processing section is ok for this.

I recently bought this beautiful piece of cocobolo burl, measures 11x7.25x.75.

I'm way over analyzing this thing. I want to cut it into pen blanks. I can't decide if I should go perpendicular or vertical from the current straight cut.

Vertical spreads out the figure more I think.

Perpendicular should get more blanks but most likely less figure but some amazing blanks.

I lean towards vertical. What say you?

I do the same right before I cut up a prized piece like that. I vote vertical

I’d probably go this way to maximize the yield

I’d go for whatever gives the best figure - quality over quantity.

So 1 vote for each of my choices, a third option which maybe going vertical and a great joke! : )

I think I can't go wrong, other than mailing it to TX! It'll be a week or two before I cut i t up so happy for more opinions.

I think the area I have circled will need some casting. So you could cut to the right side of the circle, straight lines, and save that piece to cast with resin then cut up later..
