Nice woodworking equipment at this auction. Hope you win some nice stuff.:haggle:

By the way, any idea what the 3-phase industrial motor does on the CNC machine?

Would it have something to do with the vacuum hold down?

Looks like a big vacuum pump. I'll bet the entire table is vacuum hold down

Just imagine the size bowl someone could turn outboard with that thing as a vacuum chuck. Pretty sure there's a few Texans :cowboy::cowboy::cowboy: around here that would give this a try if it were being sold separately. :lol2:

Theres no difference in draw from that pump to your one we have in the garage to stabilize with. The only difference is how quickly they move the air, same pressure tho.

I've thought about a vacuum hold down table for hand planing but it kinda defeats the purpose of going unplugged.

@gman2431 , larger air flow could help with any air leaks coming through the wood pores. A 1ft diameter vacuum chuck could hold a thousand pound bowl spinning, but I would be out of the line of fire just in case the vacuum line broke or pump suddenly stopped. :scare3:

I can still imagine a Texan say that's nothing, and then in his next breath say 'here hold my beer and watch this....'.

ive never seen a vacuum chuck on a lathe running some huge vacuum :sarcastic:

We have 24 CNCs at work and some machines run dual pumps that size and larger. We pull straight through .75 12 by 5 foot MDF boards to hold parts down. Vacuums are very powerful to pull straight through a whole sheet off MDF without any holes

What a great auction. Things like that never happen on the islands. If the mainland wasn't so filled with nuts...nevermind, thats pie in the sky thinking right there... hope you win the saw Barry.

I will not be brought down to your levels. This is Barry's thread and you guys should respect that and not derail it for him. This is real stuff that he is trying to help folks out and your childish behavior is appalling to those of us who have grown up...
