Crepe Myrtle— new to me

Well I was trimming up Live Oak blanks to make it more manageable (lighter)so I can get it on the bandsaw, and I had a sharp chain so I cut up (processed) a Crepe Myrtle log. I’ve never used this wood before, was curious to see inside.
Not bad to cut & not disappointed!
Interesting that it smells kind of like “fresh cut potatoes”.
Because of how it grew, and some bad checking some of the new blanks are smaller— but will still look nice.

Few years ago I had some dried and cut up...figure like curly maple! It can be very figured from compression. Sold a few thins here, but dog gone can't remember who ended up with it.

Sad thing, I don't really know where they are right now! Jerry @Nubsnstubs only saw two of my stashes.
Well, if I only saw two stashes, I'd hate to see his property. It probably would look like mine, and having another looking like that, it would be scary for the country....... Jerry (in Tucson)
