@rob3232 sold me this nice curly walnut that finally got shaped into banjo rims.

Those are awesome Stephen! Looks like your technique is a segmented ring, covered by a veneer? Next question, is your last name Foster, and did you came from Alabama with a Banjo on your knee? :sofa:

Yes, I don’t own a lathe. I make segmented rings, shape them on a router table then cover with shop made veneers. These are 14” rims so would be too big for many lathes anyway. And of course I did all of this in Alabama with another banjo on my knee. 🪕
