My brother has a 3 phase 10HP motor that weighs 700 pounds running his dust collector. Trunk line might be 16" or bigger, but most of the drop lines are 4", I think 6" to the 24 or 26" Oliver planner. The cyclone cone is 12' tall and drops into a 10' x 10' bin. I'm good with my 1.5 horse roll around Grizzly.
Those big old planers were brutes. The Yates i ran at min could do 30" . But 99.9 percent of the time it ran dimensional lumber. But when they got huge clear pine the would just planed s2s. 24" clear pine 1.75 thick was beautiful.

Got onr done. I'll let the caulk dry and then better support the duct. Then move onto the second one.

I tried to taper the inside of a 4" hose fitting to fit over the DC fitting on the table saw. I found out two things. First, I need to learn how to turn. I completely destroyed the hose fitting I was working on. You guys make it look so easy.. lol
Secondly, when I was making a jamb chuck for the fitting I used my chop saw. As I said I use to run both chop saw and table saw without DC and then just clean up the mess at the end. This time I hooked up my shop vac to the chop saw, but dust flew everywhere. either the connection (it was clear of debris) doesn't work or I need a bigger shop vac.. lol

The connector on the chopsaw is a decoy, as far as I am concerned. If you want to capture from a chop, most of the collectors I have seen were made like a hood over a stove but with the funnel to the rear. Kinda like tipping the stove hood 90 degrees

Yup, completely useless. Same goes for the hose connectors on radial arm saws. (Which is why, after more than 4 years since getting my shop set back up after our move, my RAS still hasn't been hooked up to DC....)
