Hey guys, a few of you know that I've been trying to start gathering my materials for a humidor that I am trying to model after the ones that Bill Wyko makes over on WWT.

I am looking to make this inlay he made a tutorial about...

    http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/f9/how-make-inlay-25816/

I need some both walnut and maple thins, I can't tell exactly from the link I sent, but I would think they are 1/8" or so. I wouldn't need them to be very wide, definitely not more than 3" or so.

Also, if any of you guys happen to have any 13" wide spanish cedar I would be interested in that as well. Thanks!

    - Matt

Thanks for the link, I missed that one. He does some incredible work. Looks to me like walnut is about 1/4". If nobody else can help I probably could. thinner than 1/4 gets a little more difficult. Also on his humidor the walnut on outside of inlay dissappears into body probably because he used the same wood. Something if you go to all that work you might keep in mind. If there is a noticeable difference in color the eye will look at it as flaw. Just a thought. Looking at his work almost makes me want to take up cigars, just so I have a reason to build a humidor. :wacko1::yipee::yipee::wacko1:

I think I agree with the 1/4". I was probably just going to sight it up once the wood was in hand. I noticed that in most of his humidors when he uses rosewood as his main wood he tends to use walnut in his inlay, presumably it matches up close enough to not be noticeable without having to plane down expensive rosewoods?

His work gives me something really high to aim for. I don't really expect mine to be any where near as quality as his, but I'm sure I'll learn a lot along the way! :i_am_so_happy:

Seeing his work is really inspiring.

Sorry! I don't know why I didn't even think about it when I was down. Spring break turns young guys minds like mine to jello .

I don't need 13" wide, I was just wondering in case someone might have some. If you did have some in other widths I would be interested.

So, I guess the actual list would be maple/walnut thins, spanish cedar, and I don't know if you have any non-figured, plain jane walnut raw veneer but I would be interested in a few small sheets of that.

I think with that I will have just about everything I need to get started on the humidor!

I can supply the walnut in 1/4 inch or thinner at 20 inch length and 4-5 inch width probably have 12 of those pieces. My maple will need to resawn and I do not have any spanish cedar. So if you can get it all from one place i will have no hard feelings. Have quite a bit of walnut in the 1/8 range as well as oak and some cherry. Reasonable offer plus shipping.

I will take all of the walnut in the near 1/4" range if you're willing to part with it. I would only need half as much maple in the same size, so if you would be willing to resaw off some pieces, I would be interested in 6 or so of those as well. If so, just post or pm me whatever price you would think is fair for your time and the wood. Thanks!

What about some from the middle stack in the 4th picture you posted? Looks like a pretty manageable size.

That other stuff is amazing though!
