Shane, I have an old plane that I no longer use and it has a tote that looks just like this one. It's off a 1950s era Stanley Bailey 5 1/4 junior jack plane.
It's been abused in a tool box long before I got it but the tote is solid and has no chips or cracks. Will need to be refinished if you're trying to make your plane pristine. I'll give it to you free if you pay for the postage. Send me a PM.

Glad to do it. I hate to see these old planes just sitting unused. At least part of it can get back to work.

If anyone else needs parts from a Stanley Bailey 5 1/4 let me know. The front knob is still available as are all the steel parts.

Thank you Larry, I appreciate your help and generosity. I’d be happy to pay you or return the favor in some way. You are a prime example of great guys that make this such a great place.

You're welcome. There's a lot of generosity that goes on around this site. Woodworkers are a great bunch of people and most do "pay it forward."

Shane I probably have some rosewood on hand if you want to make your own tote and knob from. It is old rosewood.

Thanks Rodney, I may attempt that at some point but for now I’m going to try the “vintage “ ones and see if I can get the plan in usable shape.

Larry, I received the tote and knob today. I really appreciate it. I checked the fit and it was near perfect. Looks like I have a weekend project. Thanks again and let me know if I can ever repay the favor

Glad it worked, Shane. Just do a favor for someone else and we're even.

I’ll see if I can do that. I didn’t have a chance to work on it yesterday. I may get to after church this afternoon. I think I have some before pictures somewhere.
