Just finished this set made of Gaboon Ebony from central Africa, featuring hand cut checkering in the double diamond pattern. Made for the full size 1911 frame.

Nope, it needs one outta their baseball glove leather! TIC The black would look sorta Paladinish. I've always kinda wanted some of their horsehide leather.

The baseball glove leather creases. I had a pair of Rawlings. This maintains its form and won’t crease and will only get ripples. Of course it all depends on the weight (ounce). This type is costly because of the additional ingredients that goes into this and the process is extensive which takes about 6 months. I have some goods out of this. One is a pair of boots. The other choice is Kip leather.

PS- there is also a line called Horween Dublin Leather, “Dublin is tanned using our Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formulas which are over 100 years old”.

Just bought a few pieces of alligator. - it pretty stiff!!!!
I bought a custom made ostrich watch strap- I was shocked in how it patinated and it looks better now than when it was new. The color now is rich, vibrant, with tint and shades that has a natural polish that looks like it was wet sanded with 1000 grit and a buffed and waxed.

Was it from the "skin" or the leg leather? Had some ostrich boots - long, long ago. Stolen outta my truck while playing a softball tournament in a field in back of a bar in the sticks and thorns in podunk, TX, so went to dark brown bullhide!

I am positive is the leg. That sucks man that your boots were stolen. They knew what they were stealing. It really is more beautiful now than what it was when new.

But got a nice 5' tall trophy for winning the tournament - made it all better!! Plus I had them in the truck to go to the boot repair guy when I got back into town. Both had holes in the soles and had to be resoled.
