I have got to raise some funds as in now. So I am going to let the folks here have first chance at some calls I have ready to go. $25 shipped your choice. The pot calls are all 3" slate over glass. The first three are all maple and the second two are Osage and stabilized Russian olive. The two crow calls are padauk and tulipwood.

I'm confused. I know there are slate, glass, aluminum, copper, ceramic, but I never heard of "slate over glass" what does that mean?

Kevin every pot call has three parts. The pot obviously, the playing surface and a soundboard. The playing surface lays over the soundboard so in this case it is slate (playing surface) over glass (soundboard). If I had used slate for each it would be slate over slate. So a pot call is always defined by playing surface over soundboard in a description.

Hope that helps.

Shucks I thought I knew the components. I thought it was just the body e.g. the wood part with the holes in it, and the the back which I thought was both the playing surface *and* the soundboard. I have quite a few pot calls but have never taken one apart. I guess I need to try and find a tutorial that shows it. I read Brent's tutorial but I don't remember there being 3 components. I though he just glued the glass to the center piece of wood.

Maybe this will help. I adhere my logo on the soundboard (glass). Glass and crystal are the only ones you can actually see the soundboard on of course.

In theory, the end user can scuff up as big of an area as they'd like... but the small spot you see on mine is where you get the best bang for your buck.

Perhaps we should start a new thread. Done went and hijacked Tommy's thread.
