    Hello all,

My name is Jesse and I'm from Oklahoma. A little background on how I got lured in to the world of wood working. Being an avid hunter I expressed some interest in making my own calls and started doing some research. Last year on my birthday my wife and kid gifted me a lathe and wood turning tools. That's where the madness started and has expanded since to more wood working tools and equipment while trying to hone this turning craft.

I enjoy learning about all of the different aspects of the wood involved in wood working as well as the masterpieces that are made from the wood. With that said thanks for having me and I look forward to exploring the site.

Welcome from Virginia! Quite a few call makers here. LOTS of wood for sale here to feed the addiction that you are about to be afflicted with. Later on when you're wife says you have "too much wood," tell her she started it with the lathe. Trust me, you WILL get to that point! We are a family here. A little dysfunctional, but still a family. Enjoy!!!!

Thanks for the kind words. Ive been browsing and think I'll fit right in here. Eric, I'll keep that line in mind as my wife did start it with the lathe. Haha. Come to think of it is there a thing as too much wood? Every time I think I find something I really like, something else catches my eye. There are some amazing variations of woods and I'm just starting to scratch the surface. Noted that pictures are welcomed and I'll post some when I get the nerve to share my work. Still in the learning phase and I've had my share of disasters.

    Welcome to Wood Barter Jesse!

Disaster pictures aren't all bad either, we've all had a few and someone might be able to tell you how to avoid them in the future. Likewise, started this insanity for the sake of wanting to turn a few calls, have branched out into numerous other directions since, but it's all fun. Share this with the wife and say... "Oh My!! See what you got me into!"
