This is a nice piece from Hickory that I split in 2 and kept one side. Mike Hill got the other half as sown in photo of blank in the ruff. Very neat piece, you can see the 2 branches quite clearly in the upper quadrants. Foot on bottom is just a little raised slightly curved area with a slight dimple for effect.

P.S. Just realized I have to go back and re-label platter !!

11 inches by 1.5 inches, wipe on Poly for finish

Is it hickory or maple? The post says hickory, but bottom of bowl says maple. Georgeous either way.

I would have guessed the wood was Maple. Interesting to see hickory can spalt so nicely.
