Hello fellows. Here in Brazil vises ready to use are expensive (when you find at web) and very limited.
So I decided to copy this project below but without quickly release.
The wood use here:Peroba Mica (Aspidosperma macrocarpon) and Parajú or Maçaranduba (Manilkara amazonica) the dark wood on legs.
The orinal project is here at YT:
Thanks for attention.
See the pictures:
Inserted this for moving the block with a drill
Here the bolt for be moved by drill
The MDF box works like a lathe and the router bit cut the wood.See the bit "bites" at walls. My wife keeps the drill running.
It is a perfect cut.Very smooth ans small sand time.
During test time
The nut of stainless steel 3/4"
Almost done.I changed the screws for stainless steel pan head.
Here with to bars.I add two more because in use the jaw was flexing. Now is prfect.
If you see the finish you almost give-up to use as a workbench
Today it is less bright but still a very useful workbench
