I have a cherry burl bowl with lots of inclusions and cracks. I've tried to fill some with turquoise stone from Michael's and others have just left. This is sort of an experimental piece. The finish is Danish Oil. It only has one coat which I applied uncut to bare wood after sanding to 400. I really soaked the piece, then wiped it dry. As you can see some excess oil has drained from the inclusions and is shiny. One spot on the outside is still tacky after a week.
What would you do now and what would you have done to avoid the problem?
