I have a question.

You guys and gals that make calls ,where do you get your reed kits? i see theirs some on various sites . but could you recommend one over the other . dont want to step on any toes if theirs a suppler on here . just let me know . im thinking of giving it a try this winter. and what are good woods for this .? i have mullberry, ceder, box elder, apple ,oak well just about everything in Ky you know im a logger so it follows me home.

Box calls are more dependant on tone of wood. Reed calls are more dependant on shape of air channels. You want a wood that is smoothly finished and moisture resistant finish applied if it is intended for field use.
I am not a maker, only an onlooker. So I have no suppliers.

Jason, I use a number of different suppliers, but it depends on what sort of calls you're considering making, ie; duck,
goose, deer, owl, etc...

These will be presents' for the guys that help keep me running in my logging business , most of them are deer hunters , but i would like some parts for crow ,predator ,duck maby even squirrel , nothing has to be the best just so long as they work. not gona be marketing anything ,just something for a appreciation type thing .

Thanks guys, im a little gun shy from ordering at places unless someone recommends them. learned the hard way when i started doing some reloading. when i get some made i will show them to see if they up to standards . lol
