That's funny!, I was just getting ready to post that article after reading your post about China and Cites, when I came back from retrieving it, it was already here
It's a tough situation, Congo is dirt poor, China is full of the "new rich" with more money than scruples, who are lusting after that stuff, ..... it sucks, but bound to happen...

That stuff is sort of like diamond to me... Both are incredibly expensive, and I don't understand the appeal of either one.
Just one more reason for me to hate China....
This is the exact reason 11 or 12 states have banned the commerce of any ivory even, mammoth ivory and there are more states to come. If this keeps up preband, ancient ivory or any of it will be worthless because you will go to jail if you are caught trying to sell it, no matter how old it is or what is made into even an old piano.
Just picked up a piece of Elephant tusk about 10 inches long..and a Walrus tusk about 12" long. Gotta get it while you can haha
