Lumber and billets gathered by Alan B. Curtis, twice past president of the International Wood Collector’s Society. Partial inventory spans a period of 75 years as Alan traveled from the east coast of USA to Oregon, and to Mexico, Hawaii, and Australia.
Lumber: Lumber (includes short lumber of several rare species): Oregon white oak, California black oak, eastern red cedar, black walnut, Pacific yew, American chestnut, butternut, sassafras, ailanthus, incense cedar, ginkgo, big leaf maple, etc.
Billets: Specimen billets are of many sizes and include most of the woods listed above, as well as many unusual and exotic pieces from all over the world. Smaller blocks are 2 to 4 inches square and 7 to 14 inches long and larger, suitable for making wood specimens or turned and decorative objects.
Burls and bowl blanks: This sale also includes large blanks suitable for bowl turning: big leaf maple, cascara, redwood, Chinese scholar tree, laburnum, and many, many more species!
