What type of finish would you recommend for kitchen tool handles? I just turned a coffee scoop out of black walnut, and am interested in the best finish for it (and future similar items). Thanks. Chuck

I think just about anything you want to use for a coffee scoop would be okay.

I often use Butcher Block Conditioner. Penitrates well and doesn't have a strong odor

I use an oil and wax blend from Holland bowls... Not much protection, but it's dead easy to refresh the finish.

some Arm R Seal is a good choice, as well as minwax wipe on poly, any good varnish oil will hold up, well or some rattle can lacquer, will do fine
