That's a really really special bass Jay. You guys done good. Not too blingy but to anyone knowledgeable they'll see how awesome it is. Luthiers aren't often the most schedule driven people but the wait was worth it. It looks like he put his best into it. Hope it plays and sounds the way you want it to. I want to see what the pick up covers are made from, they look like wood in this photo.

Thanks, yeah I’m hearing from those intimately knowledgeable with his work that it is one of the best looking that he’s built. This photo doesn’t really do it justice. Pickups are made/wound by him (thats his specialty) and the covers are Brazilian Rosewood. I’m making the 3 hour drive to pick it up on Saturday and will report back on the sound and have better photos.

Nice. The middle strings especially. I don't have a good ear but do you hear a little buzz out of the G string?
