What type of burl are these?
Russian olive
They ought to have some unique coloration now. Glad they aren't any more flammable than that. You would have found odd shaped charcoal lump. Is that from a planted Grove or was someone clearing a patch of brush out?

They're a nuisance plant here. They're trying to get rid of them all.
Well do your part my friend, I am sure there are a few burled ones that need cut out! And while you are at it, let's make sure those pieces can't accidentally take root. Better get em up off the ground.
