Excited with a new addition to my squirrel collection, over 90 bf of quarter saw macassar ebony. Some pieces are ~11” wide, heavy and hard wood. Adding coat of shellac for protection.
Coming from an old collection of one gentlemen in Oregon.

I’ve been to Tropical Exotic Hardwoods once. They have some beautiful stuff, but you’d better take a boatload of money along to pay for it! Chuck

You are right. Now they have 50% off for macassar so it’s not that bad.

@Chemistry Fan , are you using the macassar ebony for any particular project or is it more of an investment stash?

Hi Jeremy,
I don’t have any immediate plans for it but the price and quality was too tempting.
Yes, it’s a good way to call it “investment stash”, I’ll use that term every time buying irresistible wood.

Haha, that's how I've justified sooo many of my bulk purchases of rarer species in recent years... "It'll be worth something down the road if I need some extra cash!"
