I'm wanting to try to do some micarta for a couple of projects, and I normally use Smooth-On products for my resin casting needs. However, all of their clear products highly (I did contact their customer support for recommendations) recommend using a NIOSH respirator and a well ventilated area.

I'm curious what you guys recommend for clear?

You can't go past West System's two part epoxy., it's used for marine laminations, has been around for a long time and the knife makers have been using it successfully for micarta. That's the only one I use. A bit expensive but you get what you pay for. The main point to remember is you DON"T use casting resin, use epoxy that's been designed for laminating fiberglass.
