We don't sex ID deer in PA, that is sexist. We identify if they are antlered or not. Can't say seeing more than 5 or so antlered female white-tails in my short time in this world. As for tags, they go on / through an ear of the harvested animal.

Yikes Trans deer in Pa. What is NE up to... hold it i do not want to know . My sensitive nature might get offended.
We put on antlers. And then add electricians tape. The state is cheap on tag stickum.

Not a whitetail but my PB on a nice axis buck. Live weight 185 field dress 145. All of this guy will go into steaks, roast, stew meat and hb . No sausage out of this tasty dude.
And like a dummy, I tried a headshot on a roly poly fat axis doe. Apparently I missed cuz she was nowhere to be found. Oh well

IMG_5380.jpeg The next morning, Miss axis doe showed back up looking in fine health. That’s one of the reason to take the headshot. If you miss no harm done. If you connect you don’t waste any meat.

Spent Tuesday night cutting up 15 deer. You heard that right fifteen. Damage permit on the farm I hunt. Me and three guys I work with did it. One of the guys is a youngun and never messed with deer so we taught him. A lot went to a needed family. I ended up taking about 8 hams and 7 backstraps. Canned 15 quarts and cut the rest into steaks and jerky meat.
