I found some pecan. It's spalted and has borer holes. It's pretty solid. I add thin CA to the borer holes when turning it for pens. I don't have any 4x4 blocks though. Only 3x3 x various lengths. I can cut them into the 1 1/4 inch thick blanks you need or send them as is and you cut. I include a couple pics of the osage orange I have. I don't know if they will work for you or not.

Awesome looking pecan.... think the Osage is nice stuff too just a little small. Let me see what else comes up and I'll let you know which ones I would like.

Nick,
Cut some walnut yesterday and could get you a piece of this slab that was end grain on the 4" face. It would have a tinge of sap on a bottom or top edge to get you some contrast. Ignore the glue drying-poor man's anchor seal. I have yet to cut any so I could do any thickness. Jim

Sorry I took so long to reply to this. Busy work week for me. I'll see if I can find something for you this weekend.

Thank you, burl wise anything really will work in pot call sizes. Also looking for 1x1x6-8"l straight grain stuff as well.

Make me an offer I can't refuse and pay the shipping and they are yours. I don't think they'll fit in a sfrb but maybe a medium.
That doesn't help much, I don't like to do that I don't want to insult anyone unintentionally by low balling.

LOL. Well I don't know what they are worth so you won't have to worry about lowballing me. You know what you'll pay so let's do that. I am too old to get offended anymore. So don't worry about that.

Nick and I reached an agreement. Payment was made. I'll box and send his wood Monday morning once I get to the Post Office. I hope it works for you Nick. If it doesn't, I'll do what I can to make it right.

Here are a couple I have that are mostly dry by now. Russian olive burl. Essentially very oversized pot call blocks. Eyes are going the wrong direction I think though. 20170204_143133.jpg 20170204_143145.jpg 20170204_143159.jpg
