Some of you may have seen this lathe when I posted it in another Forum about an approximate value of the lathe.

It belongs to a friend of mine in Brenham/Chappell Hill, Texas area and he has decided to sell it. He is asking $600 for everything... all the chisels and accessories included. I was unable to find out the exact year of manufacture but I believe it is in the mid-1970s. It is wired for 110 and he said it runs very smooth.

He is willing to sell some of the pieces separately, but not any of the original accessories, such as the steady rest or any of the rests themselves...at least not at this point. The large steady rest appears to be homemade but it also seems to be made well. I did not measure it but I believe it is approximately 16 to 18 in in diameter. The larger scrapers that you see in the photo are approx 3/8" (I didn't measure).

If you make an offer for any of the other pieces and he accepts it, the price will be your offer + shipping. Obviously the lathe is local pick up. He is not a computer guy, this will go thru me (unless calling him on the phone is a necessity, then we will address that).

    Thanks
    Robert

Nice machine. I have the same kind. I'm missing a tool rest. So if he wants to sell one and the banjo, I'll take it....

@ripjack13 that will probably be a last resort type deal if he decides to part it out, but his best chance at selling the lathe would be with its necessary parts. You will have the 1st choice at it if it goes that way.

    Thanks

Yes I'm not sure about the motor itself whether it's new or not. There is also apparently a sheet of paper that he logged down the speeds of each pulley. I didn't get a chance to look at that but I can get it if someone needs it.

That's a very fair price for that lathe with all the goodies that come with it. It would be great for someone just starting out in turning.

Agreed woodtickgreg He originally offered it to me but I just don't have the room. If I had the room I woulda snatched it up. one day I'll have room to upgrade to a larger lathe and when I do I hope a good deal is around
