    Beautiful wood Wayne . It has a little resemblance to some Royal Poinciana wood that I acquired from the last hurricane. I think the Parota heartwood is lighter with some red coloring. Did the tree grow in Florida ? How much would fit in a MFRB ....probably about 3 pieces or 3 BF . I like the one in your hand. How big ? You do some beautiful work with wood.

    Tree was cut in Gainesville.

    In a MFRB, I should be able to get 5 pieces...8.5 * 11.5 @ 1" thick

    That is right at 3 bf.

    I'll add some of my observations working with it....power planing it can be finicky. Wants to tear as it's a porous wood. But responds beautifully hand sanding. I use an orbital. It also can be stringy turning, but again sands smooth.

    I have stabilized some pen blank size stuff and it responds exceptional to that process.

    I have 6" wide to 14" length left.

    I hope to get some 2" thick stuff sometime in october. 12" wide as well .
