I have not used my pen blank squaring jig in quite some time as I have no made any kit based pens in quite some time, and I don't plan on doing so anytime soon. This is a Rick Herrell Offset Sanding Jig, used for squaring up blanks to the brass tube. Information on how it is used and what else you need to use it can be found here. Also included is the threaded adapter that would allow you to use it with a MT2 mandrel, as described in the thread. I did swap out the small set screw for adjusting position with a threaded knob, making it easier to adjust and not having to find a wrench to adjust it.

Honestly, this was one of the best investments I made when it came to pen turning. I had previously used barrel trimmers and just wasn't happy with them.

Also selling the manifold I made to allow me to run up to four vacuum chambers off of one vacuum pump. Each line out has a shut-off, allowing you to isolate chambers to add or subtract chambers from vacuum without having to release vacuum on the other chambers. Also has a vacuum release valve. This worked out very well for me, but I am now down to only one chamber, so I have no need for this manifold anymore. TurnTex sells their manifold for $75 and they are out of stock (and it doesn't include a vacuum gauge or have quick connects, which I also found very handy).

The other items you need are a set of transfer punches, like these or the pen disassembly punches from PSI, which are basically transfer punches without the pointy end. You will also need a sanding disc for the headstock - that's simple. Take a faceplate, attach a piece of wood, turn it round and flat. Viola - sanding disc. A 5" sanding disc is perfect for using this. The sanding jig is held in the tailstock by either a drill chuck or by using a MT2 mandrel that has 1/4"-28 female threads and the included adapter.

Here's a picture from Rick Herrell of it in use:

Being able to adjust the setup allows you to use the whole sanding disc.
