I walked past it numerous times, and actually physically had it in my hands at least twice. I was intrigued by the fact it was a wood species that I had never seen for sale anywhere, and for that matter any wood from the greater citrus family. It had characteristics that were immediately appealing, visually, of course, but also the perception that perhaps it would trigger an overwhelming olfactory response when turning. The price point held me back, and was probably a factor why the charming nugget was not snatched from the shelves with haste by other admiring vulterous onlookers! But, alas, a suave woodworker came along and added this jewel to his pile of other magnificent wood from this extraordinary annual SWAT event, and I was saved from my yearnings which were nearly screaming by that time. Tell me how close you were. Did you see it across the room, across the way, over someone's shoulder or out of the corner of your eye? Did you feel the draw to get closer and ease through the crowd to get a better look? Did you find yourself leaning against the counter lurching to be closer, to better understand what you were seeing? Did you hold it in your hand balancing the beauty of the wood with the weight of your wallet? Did you see it at your finger tips within grasp to be so quickly cut off by a younger wood vulture swooping in and claiming the prize? Or were you in the bathroom 5 aisles away and never saw the wood, but now wish you had?
Sound’s like a scene in a movie made for Li’l Mikey @Mike hill……..let’s make that happen! We already have scene write up by Mark @Mr. Peet, we know who should play the part (well Chuck, you might be it as I don’t know how the Tennessean acting skills are) and we just need a director AND a location! We need to get Tony in there somehow in the scene, but the scene will require everyone sitting down and Tony the only actor standing up. He will a have a line, “My filter is working, I can now see beyond the trees”. Then we need a “floater” and that would be The Warden browsing and table shopping (counting his :gotmywood:, but never ever pulling the trigger). Mike @Mike1950 the :old: will have a booth showing his goods (that does not sound right, but you all know what I mean). Marc @ripjack13 will fabricate all the set. I’ll be part of the production as I don’t have “natural skills” like you folks- the “boomer” :sarcastic:

But Jerry @Nubsnstubs makes a “cameo” appearance and he gets to do this to Li’l Mikey for missing out on the piece :punish:

Roger, you did a great job on that piece of Lemon wood! It really looks nice!

It sure was tempting and I picked it up several times, but alas, you saved me, and Chuck, and a few others who did the same thing. :treehugger:

Your Tony comment, I keep thinking of Will Ferrell saying something like, "Does Santa know you are here?"

The only people in your scene who weren't there were Marc, Mark and Lil Mikey!

But you set the tone so well and the writing was well done that I can see that scene playing out.

Wish I was there. We talked about it. It came down to SWAT or seeing the grandson. Wife told me SWAT was a close second. Now if I could just get the grandson to meet us at SWAT, I'd have a chance...
