I have an older model Performax 16-32 (Model # 629G01) Serial# 001624. Last week it just quit, I have a tendency to think the worse so I assumed the motor probably died...so I took the motor off and went to a motor repair guy who checked it out and the motor ran perfectly......the next step was to check the power switch, my motor guy checked that and found the switch wasn't working.
Does anybody have an idea where a replacement switch can be found.......Jet bought the Performax name several years ago and they do have a switch for $45.00 for the current model. The guy from Jet had no idea if it would work on my Performax. I really don't want to buy a new sander just because the power switch is not working...
Help and advice is more than welcome...thanks guys.
Larry

Can you just wire in your own toggle switch? Might be ugly but it works. I did it on a radial arm saw.

Idea look up thee part number and Google search it. You might even find one close to it on Amazon. Look thru the grizzly catalog at machines a look for a similar switch. Just a few ideas. I'm sure you can come up with something.

I thought the same thing the catch is there is a circuit board that everything goes through it powers the drum motor also the 12 volt DC motor that powers the feed conveyer....the power switch is dead, and I have no way of knowing if the circuit board is good or not. This sander has had a long life, I beginning to think maybe it's time to say hello to a new one...

Yeah I'd say pop that switch out and match it up with something. Once you get it out and can see the back of it I'm sure there is something outhere that will fit.
My 16-32 broke the conveyor belt and I was able to find one on Amazon.
McMaster Carr is another good source for stuff like this.

I too would look for Jet part on Amazon, and see if connections look same. If things look totally different your best luck is returning the part. Have you looked at replacements.com?

Toggle switches are cheap. Wire one up and find out if it works.

Delta used to sell that switch, as did most mid size shop tool makers. The yellow should be removable as a child safety. If it is broken, it could be your culprit. If you permanently replace the switch, you might want to use a pull on/push off type toggle so the action is similar to what you are used to. I have used a table saw with the switch replaced with a house style toggle switch. It was annoying to use. But it did the job.

Larry, if the conveyor works, and it’s just the main motor for the drum not energizing, the $45 switch sounds like the culprit. I would remove the switch, and see if it is held together with snap fits…not really sure of name . If not glued together, you might be able to pry apart, just be careful as springs are often inside. Clean parts and reassemble.

Marc, FYI, the new switch from Grizzly arrived yesterday evening. I got it installed this morning and all is well! Thanks again for your help. That $7.95 switch plus postage saved me some bux......replacement tools wanted more that $46.00 for the same thing plus postage...
