Hey all. I hope this is the proper forum.

I am working on a live edge bathroom vanity using Caribbean Mahogany for the cabinet and curly maple for 2 drawer fronts. Drawers are also Mahogany.

I want to use a finish that is water resistant with some sheen not super glossy but some gloss.

I was think along the lines of some oil based varnish or maybe making some waxed shellac with some flakes.

Any thoughts, concerns or ideas would be great

Arm-R-Seal, which Karl recommended, is a fantastic finish. It has become my go to clear finish for projects. Dead simple to use - pretty much fool proof - and yields good results. I believe I detailed the way I finish with it in my Kitchen Hutch Build thread in the Classroom section.
