Just another reminder to be diligently alert in all aspects of woodworking!

Yesterday my good friend went 5 block from my woodturning studio to get some "Free" wood from a woodworking arborist friend of mine's log pile. Some how, and I don't know the fine details yet, a Florida Mahogany stump rolled off the log pile onto his left shin scraping him to the bone.

He texted me these photo's.
Wrapped up on the way to hospital,

At hospital

Only cleaned well & bandaged & sent home with a tetanus shot & antibiotics. Long time to grow back the skin. He expects a nice scar or divot which he will say is a shark bite. (He's a marine biologist)

First pict- he said hospital staff were impressed with the sanitary napkin used for dressing.
Jim recommends "Stay Free" maxi pads for your first aid kits to keep the blood from seeping into your vehicle...

Got the story... He had a hundred pound-ish mahogany log in wheel barrow heavy to one side. He wavered & it tipped with logs behind him & the log edge (sharp cut edge) rolled onto his leg.

Ouch!!! The white in scrape is bone!!
