Just finished this one way safety gate for my elderly parents house. No more worries about falling down the stairs when going outside.
I added a Gary touch of Myrtle and Black Walnut to the mix.

Great safety feature! Definitely want to stay ahead of the falls that seniors seem to take! Chuck

It’s Code at 42” from floor to top of gate. And Black Walnut gaps are under 4” so it is all passes Building codes.

Gary, the 42” a.f.f. to the top of the rail does meet code requirements, but the bottom half of the half gate will not pass code as it would be a safety issue even if this is intended for elderly adults- the gap at the bottom way exceeds the 4” rule of a ball or inferred baby’s head spacing. The bottom opening appears to be taller than 12”. Calling @Mike Hill …….

Find it funny, no gate, no code issue, no baby safety. Gate added, baby safety greatly improved, but code failed. As part of the "New Green Deal" they should drop codes to increase death rates to make the planet a better place....
