I have bought and sold a few things through this forum but have not been around for a couple years.

Are USPS flat rate boxes this still the best or most common practice (for stuff that fits)?
I will be listing most of my stock of turning and project wood soon and I'm just wondering about current best shipping practice.

I know you cannot count on two-day service these days. Not much to be done about that.

If you get into 20 to 30+ pounds and it fits, west to east coast then the priority flat rate box is the way to go. If you are shipping in neighboring states, UPS ground would be ideal. As far as delivery time frame, my experience priority mail 2-3 day delivery varies. I also find that using USPS ground advantage ($ 100 insurance is included) is competitive price wise and “can” arrive at the same speed as priority mail. Everything though is dependent on the weight (billable) and its destination.

I use ShipStation (others here vouches for pirate ship) and you get pretty good discount as oppose to shipping retail. Getting on an on-line quote is ideal as it will list all the carriers, type of service and price for you to evaluate and compare.

I vouch for Pirateship. It will show you, for a given size/weight, what the cheapest method is and will create labels for both USPS and UPS.
