It is red morrel l burl or something like that. Not really sure. It is burnt in the inside. About 6 inches wide and 12 ish tall I would guess.

Oh snap, probably red morrel then. Spellcheck of “morsel “ confused me. :lol2:

Great looking vase. I like the narrowing near the top and then the flare of the live edge, really nice shape!

I wonder how it would have looked if you had a flat finish on the burnt interior?

You know what that is a good idea. I like the thought of only making the outside shinny and inside not.

Nice job with some tuff wood! Something about the shape seems off. Perhaps a more pronounced concave curve at the neck and a continuous curve from the neck to the bottom (kinda flat looking on top half) would be more pleasing to the eye.

Nice work. Funny, small vase? One foot tall. I guess it's relative. When you say big, you mean big. :good2:

Nice looking vase! Was the inside and rim achieved entirely by burning? I can never get my burning that dark...

Who cares what species?? Great turn on the wood!!
Guess you were going for a "Pedestal" look on the bottom--does it well. Thinking might have just extended the nice curve and gone to perhaps a ring bottom if that was possible--but that's me.
Do like your finish and burning the inside accents it very well
