I just finished this cane, using dyed curly maple, ebony, and I think it was spalted maple for the shaft. The photo shows both sides.

What do you put on the brass tip on the bottom? What is sticking out?

What you see is maybe half of a dowel, and I have rubber tips that fit the dowel.
