So after a lifetime of power tool woodworking I am enjoying green woodworking and hand carving wood spoons and kitchen goods. Just finished this Black Walnut stirring spoon.

Nice! What are the tools of your trade for carving? Also, what is the size of this spoon? Chuck

Hi Chuck; I started with a Mora sloyd knife, a hook knife and a pfiel # 7 hand gouge. 2 & a half years later I've built uo that inventory to include 2 more hook knives by Jason Lonon, a # 6 bent gouge spoke shave and 2 draw knives. And I built a "bodgers bench " which is a big help. They're are tons of utube videos that can be very helpful. Try Zed Outdoors for really thorough subject coverage. That Walnut stirrer is about 7 ". If you want I'll send pictures of the bodgers bench.
