And, since my company cancelled company trucks, I got Momas old Chevy. And it promptly broke a ball stud and dropped the tailgate on my head.
Too much $ for a new mounting plate, and the only ball studs I could find were made of zinc. So I turned a new one from a bolt.

In SE Ohio we would have just used the stick, but would have painted it to match the car.

I like the ball joint fix. I may have to keep that in mind when Michele's jeeps thingee goes too. It's looking pretty rusty now....
