I know your going to think I am joking but I'm not , remember I get a ton of email about finishing issues.

This is the second time I have gotten this question, last time I had the girls answer, the question is "Define Wipe". Its a serious question .....Webster is of no help.

To clean or dry something by rubbing its surface with a cloth, a piece of paper, or one's hand or to remove or eliminate (something) completely.

example....I wiped my butt after taking a humongous obama....

Enjoy folks I am headed off to buy me a trailer to haul my 4 wheeler on, to haul over to West Virginia. Got a nice private lake and a cabin, that's a nice little fixer upper, . No cell phone, no Wifi, just great fishing and hunting, can't wait and no CAMERAS .

Are you coming back or leaving for good? If it's the latter, live the dream, man, live the dream.

Definitely. My wife and I honeymooned in WV for 2 weeks wayyyyy out in the boonies. We only saw maybe 3 other human beings in that time. It was fantastic.

Wipe - to run a cloth or rag across the surface with little to no pressure.

Rub - do the same thing but applying pressure

That's just how I've always defined and interpreted those terms.

I have to agree with Colin except add "one direction" to wipe as well as "a thin but even complete coat".
To Rub I would clarify "In a circular motion"

    I agree with Colin's definitions - that's how I've always considered them.

Colin and Scott covered my understanding of the terms.

I'll also agree with Scott's additions to the definitions of "wipe" and "rub."

Rub is the plural of wipe. One pass is a wipe... Multiple passes would be rubbing. Shake it more than three times and you're playing with it.
