Man I always like to see the turkeys. I have spent time very close to them to observe them when i had my property. I had a large flock that would visit everyday and just kinda hang out. They got used to me being there and didn't really see me as a threat, especially when I filled the bird feeders. I like to watch the Tom's strutting, spitting and drumming and gobbling, and rattling their feathers. Such a cool bird. They are more valuable to me alive than on a plate, I can get store bought birds for that.

Small but beautiful. Found this guy hanging out on the tall grass in the yard. Picked him up and he didn’t want to leave my hand, but eventually persuaded him to go on some flowers instead.

Technically not the backyard, but we had a neig passing through the front yard. Had a Ring notice over the weekend of a sow and cub in the neighborhood, but this little bachelor was unaccompanied. The first one we actually photographed. We have seen sign up here on the property but first time seeing one.

Not in my backyard, but at the Lake. And you can't hardly call it a wildlife - didn't seem to be afraid of Lil MIkey and walked up right to me like I wasn't even there.

Again, not my backyard, but at the Lake walking trail. Was puffing up a small hill, when I looked over and saw a vine growing up a tree, then I noticed, it was NOT a vine. About a mile later he looked over and saw another sunning on a downed tree trunk. Haven't seen one in over 5 years, then 2 on one walk. Lil Mikey will be a little more mindful now on. Plus never have seen one actually climbing a trunk!

Imagine what that poor critter is writing that it saw today on its favorite serpentine forum!

Looks like a gray rat snake but I really don’t know if they are up in your neck of the woods. Common here in Northern Florida

Yes, rat snakes are common in TN. Really like seeing them around my barn.

Here's a common king snake that I found a few days ago when removing a tarp covering some wood. A very friendly fellow so I gave him another hiding spot. I only relocate the venomous snakes which luckily has only been one copperhead in over twenty years.

Keeping those king snakes around does a lot for keeping copperheads to a minimum.

Pretty much stopped picking up venomous snakes after finding out that Copperhead anti-venom can cost upwards of $40,000. Not worth the risk at that cost.
