@ScoutDog asked about the mangrove I posted awhile back and also about some other stuff. I assume you cast since you want live edge? If so, here is something for ya to look at.

There is the mangrove, some very old and dense redwood root burl, maple burl, and a piece of desert ironwood.

Let me know what ya think.

Hi Cody:
Those look beautiful! I'm actually not into casting, just making smallish things out of the wood when it tells me it wants to be. Although between work, school, and COVID, I'm more of a wood collector and voyeur than wood worker!
What turns your head? I think I could scare up some fun Texas Osage Orange, some long-dry cypress knees from my previous back yard, some random DENSE blocks with great figure, birch blanks, western (TX) cedar, or maybe some NM juniper? I've got lots of odds & ends, perhaps not unlike your collection.

I can post some photos, too! Just want to know where to point the camera. :-)
Thanks!

How about the dense blocks with figure? I'll take a look at those.

At long last, here are some photos. I've been slow to post because, upon reflection, I just don't think they are what you're looking for. The sizes of the 4 pieces are listed in the photos. Some photos are misted to show grain.
That I know of: Smallish one is cocobolo. Next to it is Sycamore, though the wider side visible is end grain. (First photo is side shot)
The other two are from the same Texas log of ??? and are dense and HEAVY! The burly grain does not photo well, though I think it's still visible. I think it will finish nicely, though no examples to show.
All are dry for many years and ready to work.

If it's not what you want, my feelings won't be hurt.
Thanks!

Hi WB:
Despite scouring our collections, we are not going to make a trade at this time.
I believe Cody will put his collection up for sale soon.
If you see something you like from my collection, please let me know. Re-homing it is much preferable if there is interest out there.
Thanks! --JB
