Not my project, but my nephew in Wyoming has been restoring (with original parts) this 1950's era M37. He is tearing it down piece by piece and restoring or replacing everything down to the correct color primer and top coat. This winter he has completely rewired the entire truck and even found sources for new old stock wire connectors.

Got my attention... Going to restore it to original?

Not necessarily an OLD truck but if you scroll a bit further down in this forum, you'll find my thread from last year escapades with my 07 GMC (Generally Malfeasent Corporation) https://woodbarter.com/threads/no-sawdust-only-rust.46743/
Very much looking forward to getting a much older pickup, or two or three... to restore but not till my but and my tools are a few hundred miles north of my current location.

I've driven many miles in that vehicle. The brakes worked pretty good, but Man, did they squeak when applied.......... Jerry (in Tucson)

Won’t be going original. My buddy’s dad had this 56 that we cruised around in high school. It’s my inspiration and what I plan to model this one after.

Worked on jails in 82. We were at the Okanogan jail and 2 of the lathers had restored C-5's? 327 sounded nice and both were fast. Young and crazy. Now if you are young enough to remember that far back , Bah Bah black sheep was currently on TV. Robert Conrad and crew were constantly flying their jeeps off of sand dunes. Now the stunt jeeps for flying were equipped with engines in back. a weight distribution thing. Now these 2 lathers kept pushing the limits. One day they came in late with a tow truck. One had decided he could jump his. Luckily he strapped his seatbelt and flew off a dune. all was well till gravity took over, landed close to vertical on front bumper which drove engine and transmission thru radiator and grill. then rolled end over end a couple times. He said all was well until the shifter disappeared and it was all downhill after that. They sold their jeeps and took up rock climbing...
looks like fun project. I bought a 99 blazer for up at our place. The boys said I needed a 4 wheeler. I said nope- getting something with heat. At 4 above Ben texted me- I am thawing my fingers on 4 wheeler exhaust- a blazer sounds nice. Hunting started the 14th. they went up hill in blazer....

What progress have you made since March? Do you have a garage to keep it in while you work on it? Chuck
Ordered lots and lots of parts. Lol.
put on a 4” lift. Moved the fuel tank to the back instead of under the front seat. Put on new headers and exhaust. Currently working on a disc brake conversion for the front and rear before I put the new tires on.
