Hello folks...
At this time I want to share an idea I just had and used.
To me this idea about template sander is so smart (the first idea from Lee Valley or vwho had it).
I have one and is so nice to use.
Looking better the idea is simple and the bearing is simple too.But to me in Brazil the price for new one and replacement sleeves is very expensive because in our money I have to pay six per one Dollar and little more for Euro.
More tax at Brazilian customers...so you can image.
I decided make myself templete sander.
Sleeves and rubber drums from China are overcheap in comparsion to US ...Europe and Brazil ...when we have here.
I found cheap bearings near home...I used a M8 threaded bar...nuts and did it.
See the pictures below:
A M8 is not a real 8mm diameter but bearing inside is a true 8mm.I used a cable conector lock to add extra "wall" for threaded bar.
This piece saved the job
All we need
Works great
Lee Valley model
Simple bronze and plastic (special)
Because is normal thread (not left) we need two nuts for lock and dosen't loose when runing.
You can do yourself bearing for small or only one project.Just for picture this acrylic is smaller ...just for example
From brass ...wood...acrylic ...or any similar hard material
The wall I needed
Thanks for attention
