I went to find some scraps to start on the Bud Vase Trio Challenge and picked up some pecan cutoffs I had laying outside. When cutting it on the bandsaw, I noticed a decent sized hole. Out comes this guy.....tried to take some pics with a ruler to help with ID, but he was fairly fast so they are a bit blurry. I wasn't taking any chances with him getting into my indoor stash, so I disposed of him rather quickly.

What am I dealing with here, and do they multiply quickly? How can I get rid of these so I kill off any and all that may still be around, and hopefully prevent others from making their home here?

That looks more like it. White stripes on it vs. all yellow. Good call.

Thanks guys; looks like you nailed it!

Hopefully they stay in the pecan and don't spread to anything else, or worse our yard! I got the wood from a downed tree in Appomattox, VA. The landowner said it blew over in a storm, so I'm wondering if it was weakened by an infestation. And now am fearful I've introduced them to our yard and they get into some healthy trees!
