there's a young man at work that is wanting to hike the Appalachian trail. He's been Buying a little bit of stuff as he gets the money. I was board today so thought I'd try my hand at making him a stick for his long hike. Now I know this ain't what a lot of ya can do, but I think he will like it. Or if he don't he can use it for fire wood. lol IMG_1941.JPG

not much that you can't see. This was a piece of cherry that I had planned on making a walking stick out of for at least the last 5 years. Finally found a reason to do it. lol Now this is mine that I made about 38 years ago. Made it when I use to do a bit of trapping. IMG_1942.JPG

That's cool Steve. Nice thing to do. I walked the AT once .......well.......I walked across it. Stepped across it in Damascus VA. Going into a fishing store, the sidewalk out front was the AT. Whew that was tough going for awhile there.
