looking to trade grips for blanks. I have seven finished sets to choose from. all are for a full size 1911 and two are made for a bobtail.

i'm interested in Burl wood, spalted wood, Walnut Crotch, English/Turkish walnut, Elk antler, things like that. can use the following sizes.

1911 scales size 3/8" x 1-3/4" x 5" or blocks size 1" x 1-3/4" x 5"

single action scales size 1/2" x 2-1/4" x 5" or blocks size 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" x 5"

S&W N frame scales size 3/4" x 2-3/4" x 5" or blocks 1 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 5"

and of course i could always use larger slabs or blanks like bowl or Pepper mill blanks and cut them down to size myself.

#1 stabilized maple burl.

Gorgeous. I need to look at my 1911s as I have ambi safety’s on them. I am left eyed so have started shooting left handed.

I can do ambi safety cuts on any of them in case you're interested.

I have some box elder. These sites, I don’t have any stabilized. I would have to send them to you to make sure there was enough burl for you. Totally willing to do so on my own expense. Will get pics tomorrow to at least start the conversation. You may be able to tell that you need to pass. No problem on that.

Wow, never thought I would have anything to trade for years yet. Thinking about this, I may have a piece of a slab of Texas Ebony with a little sap wood.

You think I could glue those pecan grips to my Glock 43?? LOL

haha! well that would work, might not be very comfortable to shoot though!

Best option would be to trade that plastic thingy in for a 1911.:sofa:

Okay, so am thinking about backing out of this, but will show you what I pulled out. I didn’t do the 4 side pics, just don’t think these blanks even “measure” up....well, the 2 smaller ones. Yep, scrolled back to top, they don’t. But the two larger ones clearly do.

As I stated on my original post, not sure you need stabilized or not, these are not.

Zane,
Good to see you back. I have been saving some for you. Jim
hey Jim,

Been meaning to holler at you and see how you were. I haven't been back to Austin since i last saw you but i may have to go that way mid January for a work thing so if you're still game to trade i could try and stop in for a little bit. I'll know for sure what day it will end up being as we get towards the end of the year and can check with you then to see if it would work for you.

Zane.
