Bought a 1200 lbs ziricote log and got it milled into 10/4 slabs.
Worried how it’s going to look inside but so far very happy with the grain’s look.

Nice! Gonna make table tops? I'm surprised how pale it looks, it must oxidize and darken as it dries.....

It actually does and the loggers I know puts this in the kiln after air drying it on stickers in order to minimize movement, checking and splits. It is prone to sneaky hairline checks and because it is slightly on the dense & brittle end, after processing (surfacing) and as it sits, those checks will appear all of the sudden.

Thank you for all the discussion!!
My ziricote has finally arrived, ~180 bf of really large slabs. I haven’t seen anything close to this size of 35 bf per board.
