quilted maple

Quilted Maple (dyed), Holly for the teeth, Ebony, Gold Leaf, and Spalted Maple Base.

I made this using a piece of Quilted Maple that I have had for about 20 years, it was the very edge of a tree so about 1.5" thick in the center and crescent-shaped. So when I finally thought of this it was perfect as there was very little wasted wood, I used Holly for the teeth and Gaboon Ebony...

I came across this tree the other day and it's about 25 feet long by 3 ft in diameter. Quilted Maple and bird's eye throughout. I will take better pictures soon. It must have fell down a long time ago and the branches continued to grow and turn into trees stressing out the original tree as it's...

@jasonb has first dibs due to his earlier request. I found this board in my stash yesterday. It's quilted/curly soft maple that will yield 4 blanks that are 7.25 in diameter. I've not cut them yet in case someone whats to use the board for other projects. But I'm selling it as bowl blanks...

I found a small board in my barn that has super nice quilted figure. This is red maple. I am offering pot call blanks 4 x 4 x 1 and matching 12" 1 x1 striker blanks from this board for $5 per set. Shipping cost will depend on how many you want. I have enough wood to make 12-13 sets.

I've had two pieces of quilted Maple for over 10 years that I wanted to do something with but couldn't come up with anything. A few weeks ago I just said I'll do another wave and started it, the quilt was really hard to deal with tear out but it's awesome looking stuff.
