@Friedrich9 That's beautifully done with alternating the pieces, and I like the inclusion in the lid. I'm inspired!

Black palmira is Caryota urens, also called kithul. It's very much like black palm (Borassus spp.) except it's even spikier and harder to work. I have about 22 x 2.5 x 7/8" spare and you're welcome to the lot

Thank you, I regret selling it. That back and forth was by accident. My favorite stacked bowl I ever turned.

and yes please. I’d love that timber

Hi that sounds great. There were some others I was interested in. But still haven’t had a chance to go over your entire list. Did you have an idea of some of the ones you’d want in exchange?

Hi @Friedrich9 . I have a long list of all the woods you have that are on the Wood Database poster and I don't have. We can pare this down to what you can find at 1 x 1 x 12" or so, and however many would be a fair trade. If you have any others you think I might like do let me know. The poster is just a handy reference point.

I’ll see what I got spare on this. For the mangkono and gum Arabic, I only have thin boards to spare I’d say 5-6mm range. Maybe a bit more. Are you stacking 3-4 boards? And you still want the black mulga and hairy oak correct?

@daveflutes and some I don’t have I can get with a little time
Thanks so much. I'll avoid stacking for now. I got some 6mm izombe to experiment with, but it's a project for when I get my hand back.
Black mulga and hairy oak would also be great thanks.

Yep! I contacted a couple of NZ suppliers, who pointed out the restrictions. I think I can get some as pen blanks, if I can get the mini glue-ups working. I've also seen a couple as souvenirs that might be choppable up.
This is just a data dump from the poster so many simply won't be gettable.
I failed to mention, if you have a friend in Australia it might help. NZ will more loosely send any woods that grow next door and some that could to Australia. Then the friend sends from there.

Thanks, that's handy to know. I can get some pen blanks from NZ but there are still plenty more. When I'm stuck on like 599 woods I might have to start calling in favours!
