I use the "Mayberry Street miniatures" brand that both places carry. HL is often sold out of them, so I usually just order from Amazon.

I've been looking for 5/8" long birds myself. Not found any yet.
Michaels has 1" long birds which will work if your birdhouse is 3" tall or more.
